If you go to Halfords they have the correct size tools to remove the sump plug. Its a square male drive tool that fits onto a ratchet.

If you have a Metric socket set I would think that 13mm would do the trick. That's 1/2'; SAE. You could use a box/open end wrench too. Don't use a crescent or spanner wrench as they will round off the head of the drain plug.
Renault drain plugs are almost flush on their sumps.


The tool has a ';L'; Shape and is 8MMS square on the shorter part.


A new sump plug washer has to be fitted at each oil change.
