How to stop oil leak at drain plug on '75 Sportster?

I have a 1975 Sportster that is leaking oil at the drain plug underneath the engine. I tried wrapping plug with teflon tape. It stopped leak until I rode bike, but it seems that after oil got hot, it started leaking again once bike was parked. Is there anything I can do to stop this leak? Is there suppose to be somekind of gasket or o-ring that goes on plug? How to stop oil leak at drain plug on '75 Sportster?
Leave it to Ninebadbraincells to give you his normal answer. What a worthless P.O.S. he is.Yes there should be a washer on the plug.I don't think they used an o ring on them then.It should be a crush type washer.HD parts dept. can fix you up with one i'm sure. How to stop oil leak at drain plug on '75 Sportster?
Go to any motorcycle shop that deals with Yamaha and get a tube of YAMABOND,its a super sticky grey semi drying gasket impervious to gas or oil! I have even used it as a float bowl gasket with no problem! About 5 bucks for a tube and you will find lots of uses for it.
There's supposed to be either an o-ring or a 'crush washer', which is basically an aluminium/copper washer.

If that doesn't fix it, try the Yamabond.

Brush on teflon pipe thread sealant that's used on automotive intake manifold bolts will do the trick... available at any parts store
try a o-ring go to the hardware store and get on that fits over the threads and try that.
more than likley yes and just go buy a new plug cheaper than a new motor
The plug is probably just the place where the oil leaking from the rest of the engine is collecting. Best solution, get rid of your fashion accessory and buy a real bike.
