Oil leaking drain plug?

Can an oil plug 'work' itself out after a week from an oil change if it's not tightened properly?Oil leaking drain plug?
Oh yeah.. That happened to me when I worked at a gas station. I got distracted because we were busy so I quit changing oil and helped pump gas, went back to the car and forgot to tighten the oil plug. The next day the owner wasn't happy about it. so, yeah it can and did happen.

It is possible the hole is slightly worn, and needs a slightly oversized self-tapping replacement plug. It is also possible that the gasket needs replacing.
The plug not being properly torqued may cause this, however I would look for a worn washer as the cause.
get a new nylon or neoprene drain plug gsaket for your plug from the auto parts store. torque your drain plug 15-20 foot pounds, so give it a good final turn. next time you change your oil put the new drain plug seal on. should be changed every 4-6 oil changes.

I don,t know who changed your oil last however always check for leaks whenever you get your oil changed most of the time the drain plug is put back real tight so if you are leaking oil check to make sure it is tight and not cross threaded, good luck
Yes, but most likely the plug itself is bad. You can buy new ones at autozone or your car dealer.
it can,if its not completely tight.better make sure the threads are not stripped out.
