Would an oil-change place stock drain plugs?

I rounded the drain plug/bolt while trying to change my own oil (don't laugh...) If I took it to a place that does oil changes, would they have drain plugs in stock to replace it, or should I have the part in hand to give to them? I'm looking to get the drain plug fixed, let them change the oil, and be done with it.Would an oil-change place stock drain plugs?

If you have taken out the plug and drained the oil,do not take it anywhere by driving without the oil.


Get it towed or bring oil and pour it by first fixing the plug tight.Then pour oil over the top cap provided after opening it.
Ya I have a box full of them just for this reason. you can get them at any auto parts sotre or Geez Wal Mart too..
They might, but a parts store would for sure, and likely cheaper. Get one, then take it with you to the oil change shop.
Go to any decent auto parts store. This happens a lot, and they'll stock them for probably just a few dollars. Throw it in the cupholder until you go in for another oil change.

Most oil change places have extra drain plugs. The ones they forgot to replace on cars they serviced. Actually you can get one from a parts house or dealership, or wrecking yard. They are cheap.
I would think you should go to the nearest PepBoys, AutoLand, or NAPA Parts place and buy your own plug (and the correct size wrench with which to remove and reinstall it next time). Then you could bring the vehicle to Jiffy Lube or whatever service center with which you're comfortable. Hand them the plug and pay their labor rate.
No, NAPA, Car Quest and the manufacturer of your car's parts room would have one. While your at it buy a box end wrench that fits the new plug perfectly.
yes they should have a new plug but you would be better off taking the old one to your nearest parts dealer an get a replacment A good parts store (NAPA) should be able to look up the right plug. Call first that way you dont have to drain oilean than find a way to the parts store
go to napaoe autozone,oreillys, etc and buy one before you get oil changed then when the oil is changed they usaully do it for free. just tell them their competitor said it needed to be changed on next oil change. because unless its a focus, neon, cobalt etc they usually dont stock drain plugs. they usually only have an universal plug or one of those that twist in and have a compression type feature which I think is hoakie.
