Is a sump plug the 1 u take out under the engine to drain the oil?

As everyone else says, Yes it is.

I would advise running the engine for a minute or two before draining the oil as it warms it up and will drain easier.

Hi

Yes it is, it's in what looks like a tin bowl, don't take the plug out until you've got a new copper washer for the plug and what ever you do don't over tighten it.

Ray. West York's. U.K.Is a sump plug the 1 u take out under the engine to drain the oil?
Yep thats correct. just remember if you do it yourself, your probably get oil over ya and its worth putting a new sump plug in once drained, there so cheap and your know your get a good seal when tighting it back up.
yes the term oil sump plug and oil pan plug are usually describing the same thing in the automotive industry
yes, a messy job! sometimes called a sump bung as well. if you r doing an oil change, dont forget to fo the filter as well otherwise it would be a waste of time
Yes, just make sure it is under the engine. This is the ';BOLT'; to drain the oil from the engine.

'BRILLIANT'!!!!
yep it is as the first person said make sure you put it back on or your oil will run straight out again
Yup, just be careful to put it back on before pour new oil into the engine......thats happened before :-(
yep! the 1 under the oil pan is what you take out.
