Drain Plug Bolt in Car Oil Pan Stuck!?

How do i get it out, i was working on it for a couple hours and it doesnt want to budge, ive used wrenches and pliers and no luck, just seems to chew the bolt to a round shape....is there a technique used to remove a bolt like this or a certain tool to take stripped bolts out?

There is a tool you can get at most auto parts stores. Irwin is one of the brands. It has small ';fins'; on the inside and you use a hammer to tap on and the ';fins'; gouge into the metal of the head so you can use a ratchet to get it out.Drain Plug Bolt in Car Oil Pan Stuck!?
Cory, If you live near a Sears store they have several special sockets both metric and SAE sizes called Damaged Nut and Bolt Sockets. Inside the socket there are left hand spiral flutes that bite and tighten on the stuck bolt as you turn the socket counter-clockwise. I guaranty one of these sockets will do the job for you. It would help if you knew the head size of the Pan bolt before it was damaged. Most newer stuff is all metric. Somewhere around 14-15-16 mm in size.
This was a known problem for the older grand-ams. Our method was to heat the plug up and it came right out. Of course replace the plug.Use common since heating around that area and dont overheat--Maybe try the other methods first.
make sure your turning it left..not meant to insult you but it happens..but if you are which you probably are..your probably gonna have to drill it out if the head is rounded off
are you turning it the right way? take some vise grips or a pair or small pipe wrench.
