What is the size of Oil Drain Plug in Briggs&Stratton INTEK & GENTEK 10Hp engines?

I want to install Drainzit Kits on these two B%26amp;S engines. The sizes listed for the Kits for B%26amp;S is 1/4'; and 3/8'; ID. The square head for both plugs takes the 3/8'; open end wrench. Drainzit shows these sizes as inside diameter, and the B%26amp;S Parts Manual does not show the size.


In case someone is wondering what a Drainzit Kit is, it is a hose with fitting and cap for draining the oil on engines that the oil does not drain out directly to a pan- both these come out on the frame or a bard.

I'm confused by the info, but I think the drain plug is a standard pipe size, 1/2'; is usual. The best way is to remove the plug and take it to a repair shop and ask. The other choice is to take the plug to a hardware store and ask the clerk for help.
