Where is the oil drain plug on a 1995 Volvo 960 located?

rear of oil pan back side center, be careful not to over tighten as i have had several customers who ';used to go'; to quick oil type places and they stripped the threads out of the sump this being a cast aluminum piece it is a chore to properly repair and if attempted by a hack will result in sump replacement. If you can't get a look at a Haynes manual in an auto parts place, ask the dealership. I once had a Glastron I/O ski boat with a twin carburetor Volvo Penta. It was in the rear of the engine at bottom of the oil pan. However, the usual prcedure for that was drain the oil into the bilge, and pull the water drain plug from the boat. If you had a water leak from any where, the oil left would float up and get on anything in it's path. Yuck! They came out with an oil pump and small tube which fed down through the dip stick and would suck out the oil to a container. Good luck on that one!
